Shellac is the brand name for a new, patent pending nail product created by Creative Nail Design (CND polish, half gel. The product is thin and strong enough to be applied similarly to nail polish, but it is cured in a way that gives it great flexibility and durability. It also has the incredible shine associated only with gel nails.
It is highly recommended that you have your Shellac nail polish taken off by a professional.
Like most gel polishes, Shellac is removed exactly the same way by soaking the gel off with acetone. However, due to a new innovation by the Shellac brand we can soak your Shellac nails off in just 5 minutes. Picking or peeling your Shellac nail polish is extremely bad for your nails as doing so will pull a layer off the surface of your nail plate leaving them soft and brittle.
Shellac and gel polish are very similar and are applied like a normal polish onto the natural nail which is then cured in a UV or LED lamp at your nail salon. Length is not added to the natural nail with a gel polish or Shellac nail treatment. However, acrylic or gel nail extensions are used by your nail technician to add length onto your natural nails.
No. Gel colour is applied over your natural nails. However, you can always choose to have nail extensions at our Catford beauty salon first and we can apply your favourite gel polish colour on top.
The Express nails treatment at Beautyfini is the perfect treatment on the go. It includes cutting and shaping your natural nails, buffing the nail bed and applying a colour of your choice. It’s ideal for someone who has an extremely busy schedule on the day with no time for a full manicure which includes a soak and removal of the cuticle or full pedicure which includes a foot wash, exfoliation, hard skin removal and a massage!
Standard nail polish usually lasts up to 5 days and is a great choice for temporary or short one off occasions. If that’s too short of a period for you then we recommend booking a shellac or gel manicure which is designed to last up to two weeks!
Nail polish usually takes long to dry. Sometimes nail polish can take up to an hour or more to fully dry. If you’re in a rush we recommend booking a shellac or gel which take zero time to dry.
With cuticle work and full nail preparation, a gel or shellac manicure should last about 2 weeks or more with proper application and aftercare.
We offer a 7 day guarantee of any damage to your treatment that we are fully responsible for. All you have to do is call us or email and we’ll take care of it. It’s a hassle free affair!
It looks natural: SNS guarantees the most naturally beautiful nails that not only look good but also make you feel good due to its super thin, light application on your nails. It looks natural, and is thinner than other options like Gel powder and acrylic nails.
It doesn’t require UV lights to set: Unlike Shellac / Gel colour, SNS doesn’t require UV lights to bond it to the nail. SNS will give you the nails you want and only take 2-5 minutes to dry naturally without the need for a lamp or a fan.
SNS nail treatment is a treatment quite rare in London! It’s the only nail product that has a Vitamin E and Calcium built into the product. The Calcium penetrates the nail bed and the Vitamin E strengthens your natural nails whilst leaving a long lasting effect.
To remove SNS, the gel surface is sanded off before the nails are soaked in acetone.
SNS nails dipping powder therefore promotes nail strength and nail growth, for more attractive and healthier nails. This means that if you soak the nail polish off, your natural nails will be longer and healthier than with any other alternative gel nail polishes available on the market.
This depends on your lifestyle and preference. The faster your nails grow and the more abuse they withstand, the more often you’ll need professional maintenance in our nail salon. If you prefer absolutely perfect polish and medium to long nails, you’ll need a professional manicure once a week. If you favour shorter nails for a more active lifestyle, you may need a professional manicure only every two weeks. On the whole, we’d recommend on average every two weeks – maximum three weeks!
Different treatments will vary in different times. Please have a look at our scheduling page here for a full list of treatments, prices and duration of the treatment.
If the natural nail is pulling away from the nail bed then it is possible that the nail fungus will show underneath. The right application and maintenance of the nail extension will help prevent a nail fungus, as well as using products such as a nail antiseptic or fungal nail treatment.
Never! Our Acrylic powders are EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) Beautyfini is rigorously inspected by the local authority annually to ensure we uphold this.
Salons that offer acrylic extensions at cheap prices are often using MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) which is used in the dental industry. MMA bonds to your nails too harshly, leading to some really bad damage to your natural nail – as a chemical MMA was never designed to come into contact with skin and nails – it is too hard to be used for acrylic extensions and can tear the nail from the nail bed easily!
If you have your extensions professionally applied and professionally maintained and removed by qualified nail technicians, there should only be minimal damage to your nail plate. However, constant acrylic application can make your nail plate weak so we advise a small break in between.
