We miss you at Beautyfini, our Canary Wharf based nail salon, possibly just as much as you miss having a professional manicure and eyebrow wax. With the government slowly lifting lockdown restrictions we’re busy getting ready to welcome you back for that glamorous manicure or threading treatment, and of course, the safety and protection of our staff and customers is of the utmost importance to us.
Currently, government guidelines are that ALL hair and beauty businesses must stay closed for now. But, with the UK set to move to the next stage of lockdown plans, over the coming weeks or months, the British Beauty Council affiliate BABTAC have issued suggested guidelines for all beauty businesses and their staff.
So, what are we at Beautfyfini doing to ensure a safe return to our beautiful nail salon in Canary Wharf, post COVID-19 lockdown?
How we’re ensuring our nail and hair removal treatments at our Canary Wharf based nail salon will be safe There are a few steps we’re taking to insure your safety and comfort for when we are ready to open, following available guidelines and advice from government and health sources.
Deep cleaning the nail salon
We’re currently deep cleaning and sterilising the entire nail salon, from the nail stations to beauty equipment. Not only will our entire site be germ and disease free for you, it will also be sparkling clean!
Social distancing measures
There will be strict social distancing rules for both employees and clients, according to the latest government guidelines, to protect everyone. We want to ensure everyone feels safe and at ease and has an enjoyable salon experience.
Installing sneeze guard screens at every station
A sneeze guard screen is an acrylic shield that sits on the countertop and adds a physical barrier between the nail technicians and customers, to help reduce the transmission of germs from coughs and sneezes. It not only creates an easily washable barrier but also helps maintain social distancing. Plus, you’ll still be able to see our smiles!
Personal protective equipment
Our therapists will be provided with safety protective equipment (subject to availability and not causing any shortages of PPE to the NHS) to wear at all times, which includes gloves, masks, face seal and disposable aprons.
Personal hygiene
As before, all staff will ensure they fully wash and sterilise their hands before, during where necessary and after working with each customer, whether it’s a nail or hair removal treatment. We’ll also be asking customers to wash their hands as soon as they enter the salon.
Staff training on Covid-19 health and safety
Our talented nail technicians are scrubbing up on their hygiene knowledge and taking some recommended online courses for beauty salons. The course reiterates normal hygiene practices, for which we’re already top notch, but it also gives us additional support and guidance to help limit the spread of the virus. You can read more about the beauty industry approved courses we’ll be taking here.
Keeping up to date with government guidelines
With the impact of COVID-19 and the government guidelines on the best methods to control the virus ever changing, we’re making it our top priority to start up to date with new information about the virus, its transmission, and impact as soon as it is available from government or health organisations. While lockdown continues our Canary Wharf nail salon does remain closed, but we’re busy getting excited and preparing ourselves to welcome you back and help rescue your at home manicured nails! How are you doing out there? Stay beautiful!
